"ALL EYES ON US"

Timmy Smith and Zachary Frazier are finally seniors. This is their year.

SEASON ADVANCE

A new season means new life for Bluffton. Here's how the 'Cats will stack up this year.

ASK A COACH

You've seen them in the hallways; you've seen them stalking the sidelines. We know their faces, but not their names. This is the first in a season-long series that looks at the assistant coaches. Up first is Bobcats' defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach John Houpt.

Who's the loudest coach? What are some of the player's pre-game rituals? Find the answers right here. We polled the Bobcats about the nuances of the game.

"WINS DON'T MATTER IF YOU DON'T MAKE THIS THE YEAR OF THE FAN"

The Bobcats need your support this season. Tickets are $5 for adults and cheaper for students. Find a BHS All-Sports Booster Club member for information on how to purchase an all-sport season pass.

NO POINTS, NO PROB

Tensions between Bluffton and rival Hilton Head Island High School mounted on Friday night at this year's Beaufort County Scrimmage. Bluffton failed to find the end zone in their two 15-minute quarter scrimmages against Region 8-3A foes Battery Creek and the HHIHS. That didn't matter. The Bobcats defense held firm, pouring in a gritty performance on a muddy field to shut out the Dolphins and Seahawks.

3 GAMES, 6 DAYS

Don't blame the Bobcats if they're a bit sore these days. Bluffton finished a stretch of three scrimmage games in six days, facing Ashley Ridge, Spring Valley and Beaufort high schools.

FOOTBALL IS BACK IN BLUFFTON

The students have yet to return from summer hiatus to Bluffton High School, but if you walk the empty halls of BHS long enough, you'll run into head football coach Jeremy West. I sat down with the third-year coach on Friday in the athletic wing.
